8. FAQ

What is speed break?

The amount of DEX you need to make your attack speed go up x%.

Should I use axe/s or sword/s?

Swords = Faster hit rate, lower damage
Axe = Slower hit rate, higher damage

Mercenary:
It depends a lot on what you want to be later and how much penya you're willing to spend.
If you're going to be an AoE knight later, you'll be adding a lot of stamina, and won't be killing very fast unless you use skills. Which means you'll need to buy a lot of vital drinks.
If you use skills, you should be using an axe as it does more damage than a sword.

If you're going to be a 1 vs 1 knight or blade, you don't need to use skills (unless you want to) and you'll be killing faster using a sword.

Knight:
If you're a 1 vs 1 knight, I'd suggest using a sword, as you'll hit faster.

If you're AoE knight, you should use an axe. There are three AoEs you can use. Earth Divider, Power Stomp and Power Swing. Earth Divider is a sword AoE and only make damage to the monsters that are located infront of you, while Power Stomp, the axe AoE, does damage all around you and also gives the chance of the monsters getting stunned. You can use both a sword an an axe for Power Swing. Power Swing is a powerful AoE, but it has its downsides such as its 10 seconds long cooldown.
Combining Power Stomp and Power Swing would probably be the best option.

Blade:
Depends on what you want. Speed or damage.
I'd suggest using swords at first. Dretra Swords that drops from Clockworks gives Attack speed+5% and Hit rate+20%.
At level 75 you can use swords if you want more damage (+7% crit rate and +5 STR on each sword) or axes if you want more HP and speed. If you're going to the Dekanes Mines to level, axes would be great as you most likely won't get heal from a Ringmaster and the monsters hit pretty hard.
At level 90 it's the same. Axes for damage (DEX+7, Critical rate+20%) and swords for speed (Attack speed+10%, HP+15%). I, myself, use the level 90 axes for more damage and I'm loving it.
At level 105 you really should ditch the swords even if you love them, and go for axes. The axes gives Damage of crit+40 and Critical Rate+20%. That means 80% more damage to your critical hits, and you'll crit 40% more.

Do I really need to add so much STA and DEX?

Depends on how much you are willing to spend on getting a decent set. The more you upgrade your set, the less STA and DEX you need because of the bonuses you get. If you can't afford an upgraded set, you should really add some STA and/or DEX.

What are the most common types of knights/blades?

Blade: DEX build(mostly DEX), STR build(mostly STR), AoE Blade(DEX and STA).
Knight: AoE build(quite a bit of STA and rest STR), 1 vs 1 build(mostly STR and/or DEX).
Check guides for more info.

What sets should I use as a blade?

Even though we all look forward to looking like an awesome blade, the level 60 set would be most suitable for you when you first become a blade. The full set gives you Def+50, HP+15% and A.Speed+20%. But it also means that you'll look like a mercenary until level 75(or 90 if you want to keep the 20% attack speed that the 60 set gives).

The 90 set gives +15% crits and it really nice together with the Angels Axes. As you're a blade, you should be fast enough and you won't be needing the +20% speed from the 60 set.
If you like crits, you should keep to the 90 set for a very long time.
If you're a female blade you should consider taking away the boots and adding the Shaentra Boots that drops from Clockworks, as it adds hit rate +20.
